‘100% woke’ US grad student charged with hoax over ‘kill Jews,’ pro-Trump graffiti

Ziheng “Tony” Fang, a 30-year-old graduate student at San Jose State University, has been charged with a federal hoax for allegedly posting antisemitic and far-right graffiti in university bathrooms. The Justice Department announced the charges on Monday. Fang, who identifies as “100% woke” and a “social justice activist” on social media, is accused of creating over 20 threatening messages between 2024 and May 2026, including phrases like “Kill all Jews, Muslims, Chinks and Mexicans” and “MAGA 2028,” often accompanied by swastikas. Investigators linked Fang to the incidents through fingerprints, security footage, and key card access records, noting he sometimes entered buildings without classes shortly before graffiti was found. The threats caused significant disruption on campus, leading to alerts, class cancellations, and student fear. Fang faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
