The documentary '1341 Frames of Love and War,' directed by Ran Tal, explores the extensive archive of Micha Bar-Am, Israel's renowned war photographer, and the personal impact of his work. The 89-minute film, released in 2022, delves into Bar-Am's more than 500,000 photos, intertwining Israel's historical narrative with his reflections on witnessing multiple wars. Bar-Am, who was The New York Times' photo correspondent for decades, states, "The most horrible things are sometimes aesthetic." The film will be exclusively available to stream for members of The Times of Israel Community from July 16-23, 2026, as part of a collaboration with DocuNation, which supports Israeli documentary filmmakers.
