‘Al-Aqsa, be patient’: Chants against ‘Zionist scum’ heard at Damascus International Fair – report

At the 63rd Damascus International Fair, held in Syria, attendees chanted anti-Israel slogans, including "Oh Al-Aqsa, be patient, we're coming" and "we will liberate Palestine from the Zionist scum." The event, which concluded on Friday, aimed to reconnect Syria with international markets, featuring companies from 60 countries and including the Damascus World Economic Forum. Despite the presence of Western companies, these chants highlight persistent anti-Israel sentiment. Syrian journalist Ghassan Ibrahim attributed the rhetoric to years of Assad regime indoctrination, while Lt.-Col. (Res.) Sarit Zehavi viewed it as "evidence of the hostility of the new government in Syria."
