Al-Sharaa appoints former SDF commander as presidential adviser

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa has appointed Mazloum Abdi, the former commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as a presidential adviser, the state-run SANA news agency reported.

The appointment comes two days after Abdi announced the dissolution of the SDF as an independent military force as part of an agreement to integrate its personnel into the Syrian army.
