Al-Sharaa tells US president Israel preventing stability in Syria, Lebanon

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa reportedly told US President Donald Trump that Israel is hindering stability in Syria and Lebanon, according to Lebanese outlet Al-Akhbar. Al-Sharaa claimed Israel's refusal to include "withdrawal" in agreements stalled negotiations and that Hezbollah cannot be disarmed until Israel withdraws from Lebanon, stating, "As long as it refuses to withdraw, why should we sign an agreement with it?" Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reportedly echoed these sentiments to Trump, asserting that Israel "constitutes the primary cause of instability and undermines any political process aimed at containing Iran's allies." Erdogan emphasized that an Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon and Syria should occur before year-end, independent of Israeli elections.
