Almost 3 years after Oct. 7, 'Hostages Square' becomes official name of Tel Aviv Museum plaza

The Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality has officially renamed the Tel Aviv Museum plaza to "Hostages Square," nearly three years after October 7. This decision formalizes a name the public had already adopted for the site, which has served as a central hub for families and supporters advocating for the return of hostages from Gaza. Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai met with hostage families after the unveiling, stating the renaming is "intended to ensure that this chapter in the history of the State of Israel... will be remembered for generations." He emphasized the square's role as a "center of solidarity, mutual responsibility, and an uncompromising demand: Bring them, all of them, home," and that the municipality aims to preserve the site's significance for future generations.
