Anti-AIPAC, anti-Israel platforms take center stage as progressive wins Oklahoma Democratic primary

N'kiyla Jasmine Thomas, an Oklahoma nurse and activist, won the Democratic Senate primary runoff against Jim Priest on Tuesday, marking a progressive victory in a conservative state. Thomas, who secured 59.9% of the votes, campaigned on anti-AIPAC and anti-corporate PAC messaging, stating, "We are not accepting AIPAC or corporate PAC funds. It's garbage." She clarified that her concerns with AIPAC are not about Jewish people, Judaism, or Israel's existence, but rather about the broader role of money and special interests in politics. During a debate, Thomas accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of "committing genocide" in Gaza, while also expressing support for a two-state solution and the right of both Israelis and Palestinians to live in peace.
