'Appalling' rise in violent Jew-hatred in Canada in recent months, B'nai Brith says

B'nai Brith Canada reported an "alarming" and "appalling" rise in violent antisemitic incidents in Canada during 2026, with preliminary data indicating the second-highest volume of Jew-hatred after 2023. As of Wednesday, the organization recorded 27 violent incidents since January 1, more than double the 10 incidents in all of 2025. Richard Robertson, director of research and advocacy, stated, "It is appalling that, since our last special report, the number of violent antisemitic incidents has more than doubled within a two-month span." B'nai Brith released these early figures to prompt leaders to address the "worsening, national crisis of antisemitism," calling for stronger enforcement of anti-hate laws and a comprehensive government approach.
