Australia's 'Dr. Jihad' found in Iraqi prison 10 years after declared dead in ISIS siege – report

Tareq Kamleh, an Australian man known as "Dr. Jihad" who was presumed dead for a decade after joining ISIS, has been found alive in a high-security prison in Baghdad, Iraq. Kamleh, who left Perth in 2015, survived the 2017 siege of Raqqa and subsequently worked as a field medic for ISIS in various territories before his detention in Iraq. He is currently undergoing interrogation by Iraq's counter-terrorism judiciary and is one of 13 Australians held on suspicion of ISIS involvement. Kamleh, who appeared in ISIS propaganda videos, is also under investigation in Australia for terrorism offenses. Australia's opposition leader, Angus Taylor, has called for him to be barred from re-entering the country.
