Author says US publisher nixed Holocaust book after he refused to condemn Israel

Dark Horse Comics canceled Dr. Rafael Medoff's book, "Cartoonists Against the Holocaust," after he refused to include text condemning Israel and accusing its prime minister of war crimes. The book, which uses 150 editorial cartoons from the Nazi era to illustrate American awareness of the Holocaust, was slated for summer publication. An editor reportedly demanded Medoff add a statement accusing Israel of genocide to prevent readers from getting "mad," and also sought to include a paragraph condemning Israel and comparing its actions to the Holocaust. Medoff rejected these additions, calling them "factually inaccurate" and an attempt to "politicize our book." He stated, "What you are saying, in plain English, is that the Jews were victims of the Holocaust and now the Jews are committing another Holocaust." Dark Horse Comics declined to comment, while the editor, Craig Yoe, claimed there were "a number of errors" in Medoff's account.
