'Baby killer': IDF reservist attacked by antisemitic Spanish tourist in Philippines

An Israeli military reservist was verbally and physically assaulted by a Spanish tourist on Siargao Island in the Philippines on Monday, according to the Diaspora Ministry. The incident began when the Spanish tourist, upon learning the man was from Israel, shouted accusations like "baby killer" and "genocide" and threatened him. Despite the Israeli's attempts to de-escalate, the Spanish tourist initiated a physical altercation. The Israeli reservist, though smaller, overpowered and restrained his attacker. Local police intervened, taking the Spanish tourist into custody. Law enforcement ruled in favor of the Israeli, ordering the attacker to pay medical compensation for a broken finger and issue a formal video apology.
