Batya Ezri, owner of Batya Vintage House on Shlomzion HaMalka Street in Jerusalem, offers a unique vintage shop experience that evokes nostalgia and connection to the past. The store, which occupies the same space where her parents ran an antique shop in the 1980s, specializes in vintage items 30 to 100 years old, including colorful ceramics, artwork, glassware, and furniture. Ezri aims to create a welcoming atmosphere where visitors can "feel" and explore, rather than just shop, often remarking, "It's like my grandmother's house." She believes these objects preserve a sense of history and individuality in a mass-produced world, stating, "Here you can hold something and see the hand that painted it." The shop, opened during the pandemic, features pieces from her personal collection, family heirlooms, and items sourced from flea markets and collectors, attracting visitors from around the globe.
