Ben-Gvir calls Iran a ‘Nazi regime,’ says Trump is naive

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, speaking at the ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth National Security Conference, described Iran as a “Nazi regime” and criticized former U.S. President Donald Trump as “very naive” for seeking diplomatic agreements with Tehran. Ben-Gvir asserted that “There is no point speaking to them through diplomacy,” advocating for a military confrontation. He also addressed domestic issues, stating that “Hamas must be crushed, and migration must be encouraged” in Gaza, and envisioned Israeli residential neighborhoods there. Regarding the October 7 massacre, he acknowledged government responsibility but suggested his earlier calls for targeted killings might have prevented the attack. Additionally, Ben-Gvir claimed imprisoned Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti was attempting to influence Israeli elections by urging Arab parties to unite. He also expressed support for the death penalty for terrorists, stating, “I would be very happy to carry out a death sentence against a terrorist.”
