Ben-Gvir unveils hanging facility, viewing booths for terrorists in Israeli prison

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir announced on Tuesday the construction of an execution facility for convicted terrorists within a death row wing in central Israel. The facility will include viewing booths for terror victims and their families to witness the hangings, with visitor permits available for bereaved families. Ben-Gvir stated, "I promised to worsen the conditions of terrorists in prisons - we kept it," and "Our terrorists deserve only one thing - death by hanging." This development follows the passage of the Death Penalty for Terrorists Law in March, which was later added to West Bank security regulations. In June, Ben-Gvir appointed six bereaved family members as official inspectors to oversee the law's implementation. Israeli-Arab lawmakers have challenged the law, filing a petition with the High Court of Justice in April, claiming it is unconstitutional and discriminatory.
