Bennett confirms Netanyahu was warned by UAE of Sinwar threat before Oct. 7

Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett confirmed a report that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received a warning from the UAE about Hamas's Sinwar planning an attack ten days before the October 7 massacre. Bennett stated, "The report this morning stating that Netanyahu was warned ten days before the October 7 massacre about Sinwar's intentions - true," and criticized Netanyahu for not alerting security heads or convening the cabinet. Opposition Leader Yair Lapid also claimed he and others had warned Netanyahu, asserting that if action had been taken, "the massacre would have been prevented." Former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot added that Netanyahu "received an explicit warning... but did not update the heads of the defense establishment." The head of the Israel Bar Association, Amit Becher, called for an immediate state commission of inquiry into Netanyahu's role.
