Bennett has ‘no strategy, no narrative’ as Eisenkot surges in polls, political adviser says

The contest for leadership of Israel's opposition bloc is intensifying, with former prime minister Naftali Bennett facing criticism for his shifting strategy as Gadi Eisenkot gains traction in polls. Political strategist Ronen Tzur stated, "Bennett has found himself in a state of strategic helplessness during this campaign, which has also been reflected in his shifting attitude toward Eisenkot." Tzur added that "Bennett still has no strategy, no narrative, and his campaign is erratic." A recent Maariv poll indicated that Bennett's B'Yachad party is losing support, with voters largely shifting to Eisenkot's Yashar! party, which has seen a significant increase in projected Knesset seats. Former minister Haim Ramon suggested that attacks by Bennett and Lapid on Eisenkot could inadvertently benefit Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Eisenkot, meanwhile, is reportedly advocating for the opposition bloc to unite behind its largest party and a single candidate for prime minister, similar to the right-wing bloc's structure.
