A Board of Peace official stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was fully briefed weeks ago on a Gaza demilitarization plan, despite claims from ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Orit Strock that the Security Cabinet received inaccurate information. The plan, which led to a temporary halt in IDF strikes, proposes a gradual disarmament of Hamas and other groups, alongside an Israeli withdrawal. However, a senior Israeli official asserted, "Israel will not withdraw from its current positions in the Gaza Strip and will continue to eliminate any threat to our civilians and soldiers." The Board of Peace clarified that the IDF's full withdrawal beyond the Yellow Line would occur only after the disarmament process is completed, with implementation monitored by an International Stabilization Force. A Board of Peace source dismissed claims of Netanyahu not being briefed as "nonsense," stating, "All the agreements and materials have been with the Prime Minister's Office and the National Security Council for many weeks."
