British minor arrested after allegedly planning 'extreme right-wing' terror attacks on two mosques

A 14-year-old boy in London has been indicted on charges of planning "extreme right-wing terrorism" attacks on two mosques in the Sutton area, the Metropolitan Police announced. The suspect was initially arrested for damaging a vehicle, but a subsequent search of his home uncovered "documents of concern" detailing the alleged attack plans. Commander Helen Flanagan, head of the London Counter Terrorism Policing unit, stated, "This is a very serious terrorism charge against a young boy and likely to be highly concerning to the public and the local community." She also noted an increase in minors involved in extremist ideologies and urged vigilance against radicalization. This incident follows other recent Islamophobic cases, including arrests related to threats against an Islamic festival and an assault outside a mosque.
