Brush fire breaks out near train tracks in central Israel, disrupting service

Multiple brush fires occurred across Israel over the weekend, causing disruptions and damage. On Sunday morning, a fire near Ness Ziona suspended train service between Lod, Rehovot, Ashkelon, and Rishon Lezion stations. Another fire in Moshav Uza, near Kiryat Gat, spread to chicken coops but was extinguished by eight firefighting teams. On Saturday, three fast-moving fires in the West Bank and northern Israel damaged about a dozen homes and several vehicles. At Gilad Farm near Kedumim, residents were evacuated, and two firefighters were injured, with several residents treated for smoke inhalation. Fires also broke out in the Jezreel Valley and near Mount Tabor. All fires were contained, and authorities are investigating potential arson in the Jezreel Valley incident.
