CAIR school guide omits references to Israel, Hamas, Oct. 7, report finds

A recent analysis by the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) found that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) 2026-2027 school resource guide dedicates 26% of its content to Gaza and Palestinian advocacy while omitting any mention of Israel, Hamas, the October 7 massacre, or the hostages. The 16-page guide, intended for Muslim students, families, and educators, addresses bullying, Islamophobia, and classroom discussions on Gaza and the 25th anniversary of 9/11. CAM's report, "Rewriting the War: How CAIR’s ‘Back to School Resource Guide 2026–2027’ Distorts History for American Students," highlights that the guide uses terms like "Palestinian," "advocacy," "human rights," "Gaza," "genocide," and "apartheid" frequently, but excludes key historical context and fails to define antisemitism or provide protections for Jewish students. The guide also discusses 9/11's aftermath without naming al-Qaeda or the victims.
