Canadian council candidate Rasha Zaid says Zionists ‘must be locked up’ in video

Rasha Zaid, a Canadian aesthetician and pro-Palestinian activist, is running for Windsor city council in Ontario's Ward 4. Video footage circulating online shows Zaid at a demonstration stating, "Every person that announces they are a Zionist must be locked up! They are terrorists." She was also recorded leading chants of "All the Zionists are racists! All the Zionists are the terrorists!" Zaid, who cooperates with the activist group Windsor4Palestine, clarified to The Jerusalem Post that "Zionism and Judaism are not the same thing" and that her statements were directed at "people standing behind the killing of children and civilians," not simply those identifying as Zionist. Michael Teper, president of several Jewish organizations in Canada, expressed concern about a pattern of candidates taking explicit anti-Israel positions, viewing it as a threat to Jewish life in Canada if such movements gain local government influence.
