Charles Kushner leaves New York over what he calls Mamdani's 'antisemitism'

Charles Kushner, US Ambassador to France and father of Jared Kushner, announced his relocation from New York to Florida, citing the “antisemitism” of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his wife, Rama Duwaji. Kushner stated, “I don't want to pay taxes and live in a city with a blatantly antisemitic mayor and his antisemitic wife.” He criticized Mamdani for refusing to participate in the Israel Day Parade, calling for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's arrest, and supporting Columbia University protesters. Kushner also expressed disapproval of Mamdani's economic policies, particularly his criticism of billionaire Ken Griffin and a proposed luxury property tax. Despite the move, Kushner plans to maintain his New York apartment and continue paying the new tax, but voiced concerns that Mamdani's leadership could harm the city.
