Choir of Temple Israel of Northern Westchester to Perform at National Choral Festival

Hallel B’Shir, the adult choir of Temple Israel of Northern Westchester, will perform at the North American Jewish Choral Festival on August 3 in Stamford, Connecticut. This marks their continuous participation since 2019, making them the only synagogue-affiliated choir to perform annually. The choir, named “Hallel B’Shir” (Praise in Song) in 2008 by then-Cantor Devorah Avery and Choir Director Edward Pleasant, has become a highly anticipated ensemble at the festival.

• Music direction for Hallel B’Shir is led by Cantor Hayley Kobilinsky, who joined Temple Israel in 2023.
• Edward Pleasant, the Choir Director, has guided the ensemble to become a prominent synagogue choir.
• Pianist Dina Pruzhansky, an award-winning composer and educator, accompanies Hallel B’Shir.
