Cinema on October 7, French Jewish life take center stage

The Jerusalem Post launched its new culture program, "The Jerusalem Playlist," hosted by Hannah Brown and Ezra Taylor, and produced by Gadi Zaig. The inaugural episode featured discussions on several cultural topics:

• Avi Nesher's new film, "Our Loves," which begins on October 6, 2023, and explores characters' lives before the October 7 events. Brown noted the film uses fictionalized characters based on research, rather than recreating specific individuals' experiences. Fox Entertainment and Access Entertainment have joined the project, aiming for international distribution.
• The French Jewish film "Just an Illusion" by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, a semi-autobiographical story about a Jewish boy in 1980s Paris navigating identity. The film has sold approximately two million tickets in France and is expected to be released in the US later this year.
• "Feelings in Between," an art exhibition at the Jerusalem Theater showcasing collaborative works by artists on the autism spectrum, including Brown's son. The exhibition runs through August and aims to challenge perceptions of autism.
