Colombia and Slovenia recently recognized a Palestinian state. Now they're moving their embassies to Jerusalem.

Colombia and Slovenia, previously led by leftist, pro-Palestine governments, have recently seen significant political shifts, leading to renewed diplomatic ties with Israel and plans to move their embassies to Jerusalem. In Colombia, the election of right-wing leader Abelardo de la Espriella, who takes office on August 7, follows the previous administration's severance of relations with Israel and a ban on Israeli imports. His foreign minister, Omar Bola Escobar, confirmed plans to establish an embassy in Jerusalem. Similarly, Slovenia's parliamentary elections on May 22 brought Janez Jansa, a right-wing leader, to power. Jansa immediately announced that Slovenia would reverse its recognition of Palestine and relocate its embassy to Jerusalem, making it the first EU country to do so. These developments are seen as a significant diplomatic victory for Israel, with Ernest Herzog of the World Jewish Congress stating, "Israel was among the first countries to recognize Slovenia’s independence in 1991."
