'Couldn’t find a hotel to stay': Roger Waters says pro-Israel pressure campaign seeks to silence Israel’s critics

In a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, Waters stated he was denied hotel accommodation in several South American countries during his 2023 tour, including Buenos Aires, Colombia, Ecuador, and Montevideo. He attributed these incidents to organized pro-Israel networks pressuring venues and officials. Waters also cited efforts to cancel a concert in Frankfurt, Germany, and the cancellation of a performance in Krakow, Poland, stating, "They wanted to cancel me because I was critical of the apartheid, of the genocide." He believes other public figures remain silent due to fear of similar retaliation, asserting, "They won’t speak because they know that they’ll get the treatment that I get if they open their mouths." Waters has consistently denied accusations of antisemitism, maintaining his criticism targets Israeli state policies.
