Culture Minister calls to revoke citizenships of NAZA creators for 'act of treason' against Israel

Culture Minister Miki Zohar announced his intention to immediately revoke the Israeli citizenship of directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor following their documentary NAZA's win at the Venice Film Festival. Zohar described the film as "vile" and its creators' actions as "an act of treason against the state," stating, "The burning self-hatred of the creators, who are willing to harm their homeland to garner applause from antisemites worldwide, is inconceivable." The film, which won the Special Jury Prize, is based on interviews with Israeli soldiers and alleges systematic civilian casualties in Gaza, claims the IDF has rejected, citing unverified anonymous testimonies. Abraham defended the film, urging audiences to watch it, stating, "it's our country that is doing these crimes."
