Czech Republic in talks for Israeli air defense systems, foreign minister says

Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka announced on Tuesday that the Czech Republic is in discussions with Israeli companies to acquire air-defense systems, including the Spyder and Arrow. Macinka stated, "We're discussing air-defense systems with Israel because these systems are technologically on top." He affirmed Prague's commitment to strengthening political and economic cooperation with Israel. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar expressed gratitude for Czechia's support, particularly in preventing the European Union from being used to promote anti-Israeli policies. Sa'ar emphasized Israel's growing importance in European defense and security, stating, "Israel is becoming an increasingly significant country in the defense of Europe itself."
