Debbie Wasserman Schultz wins primary after Florida redistricting upends her longtime district

Her decision to run in the 20th District, which has a history of electing Black Democrats, caused some discomfort, though she pledged to "work every day to live up to the legacy of Alcee Hastings," the district's former Black congressman. Wasserman Schultz, who will seek her 12th term, defeated several opponents, including Elijah Manley, who garnered 12.8% of the vote.
