Angie Nixon beat Alex Vindman although he out-raised her by more than 16 times.
Florida State Representative Angie Nixon, a Democratic Socialist, secured the Democratic nomination for Senate, defeating former National Security Council aide Alex Vindman. Despite Vindman out-raising her significantly, Nixon won with 56% of the vote, advocating for universal healthcare and a $25 minimum wage. Nixon will now challenge Republican incumbent Sen. Ashley Moody, who is considered a strong favorite for re-election. Nixon has previously introduced a resolution calling for an end to fighting in Gaza and attended a rally headlined by Rep. Rashida Tlaib.
