Disabled IDF veteran says he was forced to leave McDonald's with service dog

Aviv Levy, a disabled IDF veteran, reported being asked to leave a McDonald's at Gan Shmuel Junction on Monday due to his service dog. Levy, who suffers from PTSD, stated that his dog assists him in crowded environments, explaining, "I absolutely would not have come to...McDonald's with my family without the dog." Despite presenting documentation for his service animal, an employee insisted he leave. This incident, which occurred after he had ordered and sat down, left Levy experiencing heightened stress and sleeplessness. The law, updated in 2022, grants PTSD service dogs the same legal status as guide dogs, entitling their handlers to equal access in public spaces, including restaurants.
