'Don't give up on Spain,' pro-Israel group says

A pro-Israel group, Action and Communication on the Middle East (ACOM), stated that Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez does not represent Spain and that a new government could improve ties with Israel. Speaking at the J50 Forum in Jerusalem, ACOM accused Sánchez of promoting antisemitic narratives, noting a 14% increase in antisemitic incidents in Spain in 2025. ACOM's founder, Angel Mas, emphasized, "Sánchez is not Spain. His government is deeply unpopular and does not represent the feelings of Spanish society." The group urged against giving up on Spain, suggesting a democratic change in government could lead to a "rapid and profound shift" in policies toward Israel.
