Driver crashes into cafe in southern Israel causing heavy damage, but no injuries

A woman crashed her car into a cafe in the southern city of Rahat on Saturday, causing extensive damage but no injuries reported.

Images from the scene showed the vehicle inside the cafe after it smashed through the front door, shattering into pieces.

Police arrived at the scene and opened an investigation into the circumstances of the crash, which remained unclear, according to the Israeli news site Ynet.

“This accident almost ended in a major disaster, but thank God there were no casualties,” a witness at the scene told the news site.
