Education Ministry announces mandatory financial education classes for ninth, tenth grades

The Education Ministry announced mandatory financial education classes for ninth and tenth graders, beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. The curriculum, designed to combine economic knowledge, behavioral psychology, and life skill development, will cover responsible consumer behavior, money and banking, the labor market, and investments. Approximately 550 teachers have already been trained, with an additional 750 expected to begin training in September, and 1,300 more in October. Education Minister Yoav Kisch, who initiated the program, stated, “This is an important and welcome step in preparing the next generation to face the challenges of the world outside.”
