Eisenkot unveils Yashar electoral list ahead of Oct. 27 vote

Lt. Gen. (res.) Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar Party submitted its final list of 40 Knesset candidates to Israel's Central Elections Committee for the October 27 general election. The list includes former Shin Bet chief Yoram Cohen, MK Orit Farkash-Hacohen, and social entrepreneur Adi Altschuler, designated for the education minister role. Other notable candidates are former ministers Matan Kahana and Chili Tropper, and Shira Shapira, mother of an Oct. 7 victim. Eisenkot stated, "Yashar was founded out of a deep love for the State of Israel and a belief that we can and must do things differently here," emphasizing the list's diversity and gender equality. The party's agenda focuses on democracy, lowering the cost of living, and rehabilitating the north and south.

"We are a winning list that includes all parts of Israeli society," said lawmaker Farkash-Hacohen.

Eisenkot's opposition to the timing of new construction tenders in E1 drew criticism from Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who warned that an opposition government would endanger the Jewish presence in Judea and Samaria.
