Europe’s summer heatwave reveals Ice Age mammoth bones, sunken Nazi relics in receding Danube River

Europe's summer heatwave and drought have caused Danube River water levels to recede, revealing significant historical artifacts. Near Prahovo, Serbia, dozens of sunken German battleships from World War II's Black Sea fleet have emerged, some still containing unexploded ordnance. Additionally, the wreckage of the Hungarian cargo ship Fulton, which sank in 1937, has become visible near Opatovac, Croatia. In Budapest, Hungary, the remains of two Nazi soldiers with complete dog tags, a World War II motorcycle, anti-tank mines, and a Kuban Shield were discovered. Further north in Bulgaria, near Ryahovo village, the remains of an ancient mammoth, including a lower jaw and two tusks, were found by a local resident. Experts from the Regional History Museum in Ruse are examining the mammoth bones, which are believed to be 7,000 to 10,000 years old. Nikolay Nenov, Director of the Regional History Museum, stated, "any discovery of such ancient remains is very important for science."
