FM Sa'ar names MK Michel Buskila as new deputy foreign minister after Haskel resigns

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar has appointed MK Michel Buskila (New Hope-United Right) as the new Deputy Foreign Minister, a decision approved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Buskila, who currently serves on the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, will assume the role on Thursday evening after government approval. This appointment follows the resignation of former deputy FM Sharren Haskel (New Hope-United Right), who stepped down due to her opposition to legislation that froze the arrests of Haredi draft evaders. Haskel stated she resigned because she “can no longer support a government that harms the security of the country during wartime.”
