From Jerusalem to Suva, Fiji-Israel Ties Enter a New Era

Fiji and Israel are strengthening their diplomatic ties, marked by the opening of embassies in each other's capitals. Fiji opened its embassy in Jerusalem in September 2025, followed by Israel opening its first resident mission in Suva in June 2026. This partnership is driven by religious conviction, shared strategic interests, and decades of Fijian peacekeeping service in the Middle East.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka described Israel’s arrival as a defining moment in bilateral relations.

The alliance offers Fiji access to Israeli expertise in agriculture, water management, and climate resilience, while Israel gains a reliable diplomatic partner in the Pacific region.
