Gaza doctor tied up with socks by cellmates for allegedly spying on Israeli prison guards

A Gaza doctor, held in administrative detention at Ganot Prison, was found tied up with socks by his cellmates, according to the Israel Prison Service (IPS). The other prisoners alleged they restrained him because he was observing guards' activities and they feared repercussions for the entire cell. The detainee, from Khan Younis, had a history of disciplinary incidents at Sde Teiman detention facility, including resisting staff. This incident occurs as Physicians for Human Rights Israel demands the release of 14 detained Gaza doctors, alleging "appalling prison conditions," severe medical neglect, and abuse amounting to torture in Israeli detention facilities, which they claim have contributed to the deaths of at least 103 Palestinian detainees, including five medical workers. The IPS has previously denied such allegations, stating conditions adhere to law and security requirements. Separately, 60 Gaza detainees were released via the Kerem Shalom crossing.
