Gaza Interior Ministry says Israel targeting police to spread chaos

Gaza's Interior Ministry accused Israel on Saturday of systematically targeting Palestinian police commanders to undermine civil order and spread chaos in the enclave. The ministry cited the killing of North Gaza police chief Abdul Nasser Mohammed Al-Maqadma in an Israeli airstrike as the latest example, stating it reflected Israel's continued targeting of the police force "with the aim of spreading chaos in the Gaza Strip." Since October, 53 police commanders and personnel have been killed in direct Israeli attacks. The ministry called on the international community to intervene and pressure Israel to stop targeting security forces, which it described as "a civilian institution protected under international law."
