Geert Wilders visits family of IDF soldier killed in Samaria terror shooting

Geert Wilders, leader of the Dutch opposition Party for Freedom, visited the family of IDF Master Sgt. (res.) Benayahu Mellet in Havat Gilad on Sunday. Mellet was killed in a terror shooting in Samaria last week, an attack that also killed IDF Maj. Yuval Ezra and wounded six others. Wilders, a staunch supporter of Israel, told Mellet's widow, Esther, that "millions of people all over Europe support her."

• Wilders' visit to Israel's heartland was at the invitation of Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan.
• The visit occurred days after the Dutch government announced a ban on imports of Jewish goods produced in Judea and Samaria.
• During a visit to Sa-Nur, Wilders stated, "It's your soil, it's your land, it's your history, it's your religion, it's everything that it's supposed to be."
• Wilders has visited Israel over 40 times and previously declared, "The more Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria, the better, for that land is Jewish—and Jordan is Palestine!"
