Germany faces daily 'hybrid warfare' attacks, minister warns after explosive drone found at airport

This warning followed the discovery of an explosive-laden drone at Leipzig/Halle Airport. Dobrindt described the incident as a "hybrid attack scenario," noting that "espionage, sabotage, cyberattacks, or covert operations by foreign powers aimed at destabilizing Germany or inflicting direct harm are a constant reality." While Dobrindt did not name specific countries, some German lawmakers have pointed to Russia, which the Russian embassy in Berlin dismissed as a "fabricated provocation." Additionally, two drones were spotted over a German military base in Mechernich. Dobrindt emphasized expanding drone research as a response to these threats.
