Greece warns Turkey against violating sovereign rights, vows response from 'position of strength'

Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis issued a strong warning to Turkey, stating that Greece will respond to any violation of its sovereign rights "with every means at our disposal." He described Turkey's "maritime parks" as illegal and emphasized Greece's military readiness, citing its ability to deploy frigates and F-16s, with F-35s expected soon. Gerapetritis affirmed, "We will respond to provocations and we will respond from a position of strength." Additionally, he noted warming security cooperation between Greece and Israel, with defense industry sources indicating resumed talks and stronger military collaboration, including a recent joint air exercise. A Greek media report also speculated on a scenario where Israel might strike Turkish targets in northern Cyprus if its interests are threatened.
