Haifa International Film Festival brings celebrated cinema and classics to the Carmel

The 42nd Haifa International Film Festival, extended to run from September 25 to October 3, will showcase a diverse selection of international and Israeli cinema. The festival opens with the Israeli premiere of Avi Nesher's "Our Loves," with Nesher also receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award. The international program features highly anticipated films such as Danny Boyle's "Ink," Olivier Assayas's "The Wizard of the Kremlin," and Pierre Salvadori's romantic comedy "The Electric Kiss."

• The Israeli Cinema section includes Marco Carmel's "Double Panther," based on the true story of a criminal infiltrating the Israeli Black Panthers, and Imri Matalon's "Many Waters."
• A special screening of Nitzan Gilady's final film, "Thou Shalt Love," will honor the late director.
• Documentaries like Tomer Heymann's "I Want to Tell My Story," which offers a unique approach to Holocaust history, and Uri Levi's "Peace 2030," following individuals seeking Israeli-Palestinian peace, are also featured.
• The festival will pay tribute to Barbra Streisand with screenings of "Funny Girl," "Hello, Dolly!," and "A Star Is Born."
