Hamas delegation to arrive in Cairo to discuss 'key issues' in Gaza Board of Peace deal – report

A Hamas delegation, led by newly elected leader Khalil al-Hayya, is expected to arrive in Cairo on Sunday to discuss key issues in the 15-point Gaza peace plan proposed by the Board of Peace. The delegation will meet with Egyptian General Intelligence Service Chief Hassan Rashad. This visit follows reports that Jared Kushner, US Special Envoy for Peace, along with Tony Blair and Nikolay Mladenov, head of the Gaza Board of Peace, may also visit Israel and other regional countries this week to discuss the situation in Gaza. President Trump previously announced a "historic" agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas, stating it would lead to "Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian government." However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu formally rejected the plan, affirming, "the IDF will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed.”
