Hamas, Hezbollah coordinating attacks with Iran as IDF warns of rebuilt ‘axis of evil’

Hamas and Hezbollah are coordinating increased activities with Iranian assistance, leading to heightened friction with Israeli forces on northern and southern fronts, according to IDF assessments. The IDF believes this is an effort to rebuild an "axis of evil" to pressure Israel. On the northern front, a "battle of wits" is occurring on the Ali Taher ridge, where Hezbollah attempts to locate and attack IDF troops, as seen with a fiber-optic drone attack that wounded three soldiers. Hezbollah is also reportedly trying to resupply operatives trapped underground, while the IDF works to locate and destroy their infrastructure. A senior military source stated, "Whoever comes out of the underground and surrenders will be taken for questioning in Israel, and whoever remains underground will either die, or we will kill him." On the southern front, an IDF tank in the Gaza Strip drove over a recently planted explosive device. Despite this escalation, political leadership did not authorize a broad strike in Gaza City due to US demands for an immediate halt to strikes and targeted killings there.
