Health funds launch flu vaccination campaigns as supplies gradually reach clinics

Israeli health funds are launching their flu vaccination campaigns for the 2026-2027 winter season, with a gradual rollout of supplies. Meuhedet Health Services received its first shipment and expects to begin vaccinations next week, with other health funds, including Clalit, also starting their campaigns. Supplies will arrive in multiple shipments throughout September and October, leading to an initial focus on major clinics and designated vaccination centers before expanding nationwide. Health officials are urging at-risk populations to get vaccinated promptly. Clalit has ordered over one million injectable vaccines and 25,000 nasal sprays, while Meuhedet has ordered approximately 250,000 vaccines, including high-dose options for seniors. Hagar Wexler, director of Meuhedet's Nursing Division, stated, “The vaccines are arriving in Israel and at clinics gradually this year, and it is recommended to schedule an appointment in advance to get vaccinated.”
