Herzog: On 9/11, Israel stands with America, its 'greatest ally and friend'
"We salute the families of those who lost loved ones, and we continue to bear witness to their sacrifice," said the Israeli president.
On Friday, Israeli President Isaac Herzog commemorated the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks in the United States. Speaking from Israel's 9/11 Living Memorial in the Jerusalem Hills, Herzog honored the nearly 3,000 victims who died in New York, at the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania. He stated, "We bow our heads in memory of the thousands who were murdered on that dark day" and acknowledged the ongoing global fight against terrorism, noting that "the evil of that vicious assault on the United States remains as shocking as ever." Herzog emphasized Israel's solidarity with the U.S., calling America its "greatest ally and friend."
