Herzog said Shin Bet warned him of internal, external threats to Israel's 2026 elections

Herzog emphasized the dangers posed by social media and called on law enforcement to address these threats. He urged Israeli citizens to be thoughtful about the content they consume and broadcast, and to make informed decisions when voting, stating, "remember that elections are not a civil war." Herzog also addressed societal divisions, appealing to elected representatives and candidates not to "cross red lines" or "turn rivals into enemies," especially ahead of Tisha B'av.
