This project is part of a larger trend of global capital investment in UK student housing, driven by increased student numbers and reduced university funding. Menora Mivtachim, a significant investor in Israeli military infrastructure and a shareholder in companies involved in West Bank settlements, partnered with Cain International in 2023 for UK student housing schemes. Jonathan Goldstein, Cain International's CEO and former chair of the pro-Israel Jewish Leadership Council, has strong ties to pro-Israel lobbying and has publicly supported Israel's actions in Gaza, stating, "We must give our unstinting and total support to whatever action Israel determines in its absolute discretion as an appropriate response to this atrocity."
